When it comes to dieting people want quick results. Everything that is put in front of us online, on social media and in entertainment is 'DRAMATIC RESULT HERE'. The truth is that weight loss, changing your body, and living a healthy lifestyle is all achieved by taking a longer term approach with the right behaviours supporting everything.

Trying to crash diet, or 'cheat the system' is a completely doomed to failure. Even if someone tries an extreme method and loses weight, research shows us they will almost certainly return back to their initial weight sooner rather than later.

Why would this not happen? They have learned anything about food or implemented the behaviour change needed to succeed. Crash dieting or going super low calorie is a terrible idea for many reasons. It also perpetuates the idea that 'weight loss doesn't work', when it really does, but the person hasn't tried the proper, sustainable way of doing it.

It also promotes a very unhealthy relationship with food. Basically all the things I DON'T want to happen.
